The Name

saint02

You can just call me "saint", or if you prefer "zero two".

I get asked some times about my art name and what it means.  So here's the break down:

saint:  In the Christian world, depending on the denominational belief it could mean many different things.  However, to me it means this, a saint is just a follower of God.  In other words His people.  So, that is simply what my name means a follower of Jesus.  I'm not perfect, I'm just seeking Truth in life, striving, falling, and getting back up again.  To me life isn't about where you go, but how you get there.  Life is about the adventure of living the journey.  We will all fall and fail, but it's about getting up and doing our best to do right no matter how many times we fail over and over again.

02:  The 02 at the end means a few things.  First, I got it from when I used to race karts, my number was #2.  However, I like the zero in there as one of my favorite drivers when I was younger used 02, Ryan Newman, I used to watch him when he raced USAC midgets.  Another interesting linguistic thing about the spelling of 02, is that it can be pronounced "oni", as in a Japanese demon.  Zeros are often pronounced as "oh" here in the states, and in Japanese the #2 is pronounced "ni".  A lot of graph writers, which I used to be, use numbers in their spelling for style and meaning such as in this case.  So, saint02 can be prounouced as saint-oni, or with more of a Japanese accent say-n-to-ni.

The reason for this combination is that no one is perfect, and we all have to over come our own demons.  We are all different, but our struggles are similar when we get down to it.  For me, and what I believe, Jesus is the answer to help us over come those struggles and to help us live a peaceful life with each other.
