Had some fun doing some life studies today. Got the reference photos for these from pixelovely.com (http://www.pixelovely.com/gesture/figuredrawing.php). It's a great source for figure studies. These studies were primarily about studying light and shadow on the form. The ballerina started out with newsprint entirely covered in vine charcoal. Then lightly drawn with charcoal pencil, all tone done with a kneaded erasure. That took quite some time using going from dark to light.
